Everyone has a different way of celebrating Thanksgiving. This time of year has traditionally been spent with family enjoying a big meal, but not all families celebrate Thanksgiving in this manner. How do you (and perhaps your family) celebrate this holiday. With a large turkey dinner? Attending a football game? Maybe go to the movies? On your blog spend some time blogging about your traditions (or none at all) for this time of year. You need to include an image (could be a wordle or animoto or another of your choice) that supports your post. Good luck and have a great holiday!

Some schools require their students to wear a uniform to class. Traditionally this is to help encourage uniformity among students and staff. Would you like to wear a uniform to school? Is this something that would help create a more positive learning environment? On your student blog you will write a paragraph (no less than six sentences) explaining your point. When you are finished with your response you may comment on the blogs of your classmates. Good luck!

Your assignment: Choose an image (or two) from this site. Write a brief paragraph why you chose the image. You need to embed the image in your paragraph. Your paragraph could be about how the image relates to you (maybe something important to you like sports or hobbies). 6-8 sentences is always a basic requirement for your paragraph.

What is life like for a middle school student? Have you enjoyed your experiences at Hayes Middle School? Explain some of your challenging experiences in middle school. What have you learned from your mistakes? What knowledge have you gained from your successes? On your student blog write a brief paragraph explaining your life as a middle school student. You may comment on your classmates blogs when finished with your paragraph. Remember, this is the last week of the trimester! Good luck student bloggers!

If you were president for a day what would you do? These have to be some-what realistic ideas, so please do not create fictional (not real) scenarios. Right now our country needs a boost (economically, emotionally, peacefully) what would you do? Please use a minimum of 6 to 8 sentences to complete your paragraph. You may insert a picture if you would like (please follow the steps we discussed in class about citation). When you have completed your paragraph you comment on the blogs of your classmates.

Here in the United States we have some unique freedoms that other countries may not share. Some countries have restrictions on what their people wear (kinds of clothing), and sometimes what their people say and do. What do you think about that? How does it make you feel to know that here in the U.S. we are very fortunate to have more freedoms that other countries? Read this article about Facebook and Twitter in Iran and then write a blog post with your response. As always you may use links or embed images to support your response.
Keep up the good work student bloggers!

Read this article about what it is like to be an umpire. Next, respond on your own blog about your thoughts about the career you would like to have later in life. You need to include a paragraph 6-8 sentences in length responding to who, what, where, when and why. Lastly, you will also need to embed a link to the career you are interested in working. This means you will have to spend some time search, appropriately of course, for the right job.
Good luck!
